College Ministry of KCQ

Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t know anyone here at KCQ. I will feel very awkward…

Here’s the good news: There are many who feel the same way as you do! That’s why we are putting together a team of staff and helpers who know exactly how you feel and we will serve you so that you won’t feel uncomfortable.

I’m not in college… but can I come?

Yes! We would love to have you for relevant teaching and fellowship.

What if I’m not in 18-24yr age range?

If you are interested in what we are doing, we would love to have you.

Which language will be spoken here?

Korean + English.

I already attend Embrace or NCF. Why should I come?

Both Rev. Won Yang (Embrace) & Rev. John Baek (NCF) are fully supportive of starting an independent college group. We all agree that a group that is focused solely on college students will better serve them. If you are already involved in either ministry, you can still come out just to enjoy the teaching and fellowship with no strings attached. On Sundays, you can go wherever to worship (Main service, Embrace, NCF, even other churches).

I don’t go to KCQ. Can I come? Can I also invite someone from outside of KCQ?

If you currently attend smaller churches where there are no English services or the same age group, we encourage you to come. You can come here on Saturday to receive spiritual encouragement and go back to your own church to serve others.

Who’s in charge?

Pastor Sam Chung is the one organizing this college ministry. He has degrees from Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div. & Th.M.) and is currently a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Ligonier Academy (with Dr. R.C. Sproul).

What kind of fellowship are you planning on doing?

Things that you would love to do such as eating, games, basketball, bowling, camping, rafting, as well as a retreat etc.

How can I help?

Even if you can’t fully participate, we would love to have your help. Please consider these positions: College Ministry Staff, Transportation (w/ church van), Food prep, Praise team (any instrument), Activity Coordinator etc. Please email Pastor Sam or Deacon Lee for further info.
